Had a bit of fun sculpting out some expressions. I think some of them came out ok. Was enjoyable doing it. The typology of the mesh seemed to deform well so I'm happy with that. Still really need to fix the hair, hopefully will get time after deadlines are over.

Been pretty busy with production work (which I can't upload) so haven't found much time to do personal studies. Any-whey, had a go at a self portrait in zbrush. Been playing about with this sculpt for a while and for some reason the front view still looks off, but I'm leaving it for now. Will hopefully paint it at a later date and add some blend shapes to form expressions. Also learning to render out the passes for images and composite them properly is on my list of things to do, but for now we have good old screen grabs. The hair I did quickly last minuet, was hoping to work into it more, but as theres other stuff i want to do it'l have be another thing to come back to; so try to ignore the lumpiness.

After reflection I realised that the furry excuse for some foliage on top of the tree was a bit of failed experiment. Never-the-less live and learn. Decided finish off this treehouse with some clearer renders which present the model a bit better. As the pitch it was intended for has been dropped I will probably never finish it, so the top of the tree will alas remain stumpy. Still, learnt a lot by doing it :)

Its a Van! Made for a film pitch for a friend of mine. The film is going to be 2D but they want to try and integrate some 3D aspects into it (hence the van.) Not the greatest bit of modelling as I had to keep it very simple so that it wouldn't stand out when put within a 2D environment. The director also wants to try painting the UV layout of the Van in watercolour, then have it scanned back on. Have never tried this before so it will be interesting to see how the test works out!

A tree I've been working on to help with a friends film pitch in October. I've never modelled anything organic before so going at it blind was quite a challenge. Still a work in progress; a treehouse is going to be added to the largest branch and the leafs of the tree, which I'll probably model as one single mass, need to be added too. A long with that the current texture is a very butchered one I put together in about 5 mins. I've yet too look into texturing, so to fix this is something for a later date. Lights also need to be added, something I need too look into as well.

Hey. Just worked my way through a tutorial by digital tutors on UV layout. Figured I'd upload my notes here on the grounds that some fellow AUCBer might stumble across them and find it useful. Plus its handy to document stuff online. The tutorial was really very good and I learnt a lot from it. I really do recommend it, so if anybody would like it just let me know and I'll send it over too you :)
